When children speak, listen. They freely share the joys of life that we are often too preoccupied to remember. Lord, help me bring back those qualities that I had as a child that would allow me to be more lighthearted, more playful and more determined to live happy.

If today’s burden is too heavy, it may be because you have added on yesterday’s problems or the fears of tomorrow’s problems. Lord, help me to keep my focus and not take on that which is impossible to do anything about anyway.

The gift of listening is often more valuable than the advice that we’d like to give. Lord, help me to be a good listener and then help me to let others work things out according to Your plan for them, not mine.
